- Lily says "mama"...it sounds more like "mummmmumm....mummm...mummmm", but I'll take it! Lily also loves to fake scream for fun. It's not really loud, but it sounds like something from a horror movie! My mom taught her how to do it - thanks, Grandmom. No words from Abby yet!
- Both girls sit very steadily for long periods of time.
- Abby has been full on crawling for a week and can now go from crawling to sitting and back. Lily is on her hands and feet rocking - I'm predicting she's about two weeks away from crawling.
- Lily loves to study people's faces and grab noses, mouths and other parts of your face.
- Lily (still) loves chewing on her feet.
- Lily is a mad jumper in the jumperoo.
- Abby can walk around a room when you hold her hands - it somehow came along with learning how to crawl!
- Both girls sleep through the night (have pretty much been doing it since 4 months). They sleep from 7:30pm - 7am, give or take. They still wake up a couple times a night for their pacifiers, but it's not a big deal (usually).
- Both girls had one cold last September and no other winter season illnesses (I'm sure I've jinxed us now! *knock on wood*)
- Abbers likes to breathe really loudly (sort of like Darth Vader) when she is concentrating on something. It's hilarious!
- Abby is thisclose to pulling up. [Saturday update - she started pulling up today!]
- Abby loves to do headstands - her head and feet are on the ground, but butt high up in the air. She lifts her hands off the ground any everything! I think it's related to trying to pull up.
- Both girls can put their binky back in their mouth (yay). They can also steal each other's binkies (doh).
- Both babies love DVDs - Happy Feet, Brainy Baby, Baby Sign Language, Elmo - you name it! Lily especially loves her TV.
- Both girls seem to know their names now.
- The girls are eating finger foods now (in addition to purees and formula). They are certified cheerios and puffs addicts, but they aren't very good at feeding themselves yet. Other solid foods they've eaten so far are (cut up in little pieces, usu cooked to soften): carrots, waffles, pears, peaches, graham crackers (LOVE), yogurt, peas, chicken, white beans, banana (LOVE), apples, bread, turkey, sweet potato, corn, pancakes, pasta. They are *so cute* when they are working on chewing up foods. It's like they sit and really think about it. :)
- Lily loves penguins.
- Lily loves when you throw her up in the air and laughs out loud every time. Her hair flies around like crazy!
- Abby doesn't have as much hair as Lily and it's a coarser texture.
- Abby is proving to be more outgoing than Lily.
- Lily has longer eyelashes than Abby.
- Lily has more of an olive complexion than Abby.
- They actively play with toys and are starting to play with each other (finally). Their fave toys are Elmo Live, rattles, stuffed animals (Peter Rabbit), the Animal Train, spinning top.
- Both girls have sat in big girl high chairs at restaurants!
- Even though they aren't identical, they look an awful lot alike (heck, we mix them up!). The only real defining difference we've found is a mole on Abby's knee and freckle on Lily's butt!
