Overall, a great 37-week appointment today. The only thing that would have been better would have been if she decided today was the day to have the babies!
The doctor went through what the c-section procedure would be like, which helped calm my fears a lot. She also did another ultrasound to make sure the girls hadn't changed positions (they hadn't, one is heads down and the other breech).
Funny, I asked her if she could examine me to see if there was any progress toward labor and she says "Aimee, I've been an obstetrician for 25 years. I'm looking at you, having this conversation and can tell you that at MOST you are 2 cm dilated, maybe less. I wouldn't change our approach and timing unless you are in real labor. But, it's up to you if it's that important!" I laughed and declined. It's all good, but I am really looking forward to meeting our girls - one week from today!
Oh, and NO weight gain this past week! I'm glad because I've already put on 65 freaking pounds!!!!!
PS - Heather, Ron's previous coworker at MDHS, went home with contractions today. She's also due on 4/30 and we've been guessing who would be the first to deliver! I hope her, Dan and her baby girl are doing well!
