Brrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

Okay, so the title doesn't really have anything to do with the post, but it's been SO COLD around here over the last week that it's hard to ignore. I feel like it should be a caption under every picture. We were at a birthday party. And it was cold. We made cookies. And it was cold. Anyway.....

We had a pretty fun weekend! Yesterday, Lily and I went Christmas shopping with my friend Laurie. Abby stayed home with Ron and watched college football. Sometimes we split them up because:
  1. It's easier for us to handle one kid each on our own, and
  2. I think it's good for them to sometimes NOT be together. They are individual little people after all.
Lily has really proven to be a bit more high maintenance than her sister lately, and she just ate up all the individual attention she got yesterday. So that's a good thing. :)

Today, we went to Colin Tierney's 3rd birthday party then to Cathy and Tick's to learn how to make Gobs, our childhood favorite cookies. YUM. I ate three for dinner. Okay, it was really four (yikes).

At Colin's house - see how we make everyone else hold our kids at family functions?

Colin gets ready to blow out the candles on his cake, with his mom and dad behind him. He's totally into his kitchen playset right now, which is why he has a pot holder on!
50% successful at an afternoon nap (and oh, did we pay for it that night!)
The cookie table at Cathy and Tick's (they are the most labor-intense dessert ever and sooooo worth it)
Abby watched the Ravens game with Tick and Bryon. Wow, I just realized Abby watched a lot of football this weekend. What we really came for....the gobs!! Cathy sneaked us some to take home (the rest are for Thanksgiving).
